On Saturday 2 May, the town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (France) hosted the third edition of the "Pèlerinage des Motards", an event that combined the passion for two wheels with a deep sense of community and spirituality.

Organized with passion by the club Sons of Road, the pilgrimage began early in the morning at "La Pataterie" in Arles. After a shared breakfast, a long snake of motorbikes wound through the wild landscapes of the Camargue Natural Park, until reaching the historic Place des Gitans, overlooking the sea.

The atmosphere, as described by the participants, was characterized by an "organizational simplicity" that left room for human warmth and spontaneous sharing between motorcyclists of all backgrounds.

Don Emmanuel: a parish priest in the saddle

The most exciting and characteristic moment of the day was undoubtedly the meeting with Don Emmanuel, the parish priest of the local Basilica. Far from stereotypes, Don Emmanuel is himself a biker, a "road brother" who welcomed the participants with overwhelming kindness.

At 11:00, the church was filled with helmets for a special blessing, followed at midday by the "Baptism of the Motorcycles" in the square. A ritual that was able to touch the hearts of even the toughest, confirming how the passion for motorbikes can become a universal language of brotherhood.

Music, shows and "Cirage des Pneus"

After the solemnity of the morning and the inevitable aperitif hour, the afternoon changed gear. The Place des Gitans has been transformed into an open-air stage with live music and high-level shows. There was no shortage of adrenaline-filled moments, thanks to the "Concours de Rupture" (flashing competition) and the traditional "Cirage des Pneus" (burnout), which thrilled the crowd of onlookers and enthusiasts.

An Italian testimony

Among the hundreds of riders present, there was no shortage of Piedmontese representation. Daniele Molina (Moto Club Castellazzo Bormida) and his wife Barbara (Moto Club Madonnina dei Centauri) took part in the entire event, bringing greetings from Italy.

“It was an overall beautiful experience,” declared Daniele and Barbara. "The place is enchanting and the welcome of Don Emmanuel and the Sons of Road makes you immediately feel part of a big family. It is a trip that we absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to experience motorcycling in its purest and most genuine essence."

The event ended with the promise to meet again for the fourth edition, with the idea of keeping alive this bridge of passion that unites for the Madonnina.
